A New Model for Dental Transitions

I am Bridgett Jorgensen, a dentist of over 32 years (SIU/SDM – 1992). My husband, Allen Jorgensen, co-founded Lighthouse 360 in 2002. Our daughter, Delaney Spaulding, is also a dentist (BU – 2018). I have already gone through the process of selling my practice, and Delaney has purchased one, but it was COMPLICATED to find a buyer (for my practice) and a seller (for her practice), and that doesn’t even factor in the time spent over the years of looking for positions or hiring associates.
Dental Transitions Shouldn’t Be This Complicated!
Even though I sold my practice in 2018 to a fabulous dentist, I still work there six years later. I work a few days a month just to adjust my brain back to dentistry on a regular basis. We had such a fabulous transition because we did not use a broker. Nothing was made to be contentious. The new owner and I solved everything by talking to each other. Once we decided what the terms needed to be – we went to an attorney and he drew up the contract.
The common denominator in awful transitions are brokers that just want to close the deal, and couldn’t care less if everyone is happy
That’s why, in 2021, I started a small Facebook group to serve as a meeting place for buyers, sellers, those hiring associate dentists, and those needing to find a job. Our team is very strict on our vetting standards for new members joining, to ensure that no brokers, no recruiters, and no corporate owners make their way into our exclusive community of private practice oriented dentists and students.

Now, over three years later, and our community of a few dozen like-minded dentists has grown to over 22,000 and counting! We have had over 10,000 listings posted on our site, across every state in the USA. Our network is now the nation’s largest private practice dental transition platform, and every day we are connecting buyers with sellers, and dentists who are hiring with those who are looking for positions.
In February of 2024, we grand launched our state specific member-website and mobile app. This focused and tailored version of our community is personalized to our members and their specific goals. Those looking to make a dental transition can view every single relevant listing within their state(s), and also be directly notified when a new opportunity is posted in their state(s) of choice. In addition to this, our members receive access to a large array of curated resources, videos, courses, documents, plus exclusive discounts through our Trusted Partners. With our member website and mobile app, we believe we have made it easier than ever before for our members to find the perfect dental transition match for their situation.

We are truly just trying to give back to the community that we’ve been a part of for 35 years. I was an assistant, receptionist, and hygienist before going back to dental school. My husband has been witness to all of that while creating his own dental business (that he has since sold), and our daughter was brought up (along with her three brothers) inside a dental office.
This site is for dentists in PRIVATE PRACTICE or those wishing to be
- Corporate dental entities have plenty of avenues to find what they need, but small business owners do not.
- Brokers can connect buyers and sellers, but charge 10% for their introductions, and are motivated by quick transactions at the cost of quality transitions.
- Recruiters provide the service of connecting hiring dentists with associates, but at the cost of hefty placement fees often exceeding tens of thousands of dollars, with little regard paid to the actual quality of candidates.
We believe in a better model. Utilize our extensive network (whether on our nationwide Facebook page or on our state-specific member website and mobile app) to find exactly what you’re looking for. No broker fees, no placement fees, just real connections with real dentists who have a real need that you can fill!
For those who are looking for specialized transition services such as valuations, contract reviews, and more: We’ve got you covered
We hope you’ll consider joining our growing network, and together we can keep private practice alive and well.
